Antique Greenland Denmark Inuit Indigenous embroidered sealskin bag bone clasp

LOOK is pleased to offer this unusual seal skin Inuit bag. While I cannot claim expertise in the field, the embroidery work along the rough-hewn leather border looks Greenlandic. The clasp is carved bone. The interior is lined with what looks and feels like linen. I would estimate its age to be early 20th century.

The bag measures 10.5" high by 10" across.

Very good, given age. There are clear signs of wear to the sealskin, and the leather is faded and cracked, which is to be expected. Despite that, the bag has held up well. No rips or tears.
